Retired Alabama Baptist pastor Samuel M. Brown died Jan. 2. He was 97.
A Cullman native, Brown was a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
During his 50 years of full-time ministry, he served Dalraida Baptist Church, Montgomery; Siluria Baptist Church, Alabaster; Trinity Memorial Baptist Church, Montgomery; Tallaweka Baptist Church, Tallassee; First Baptist Church, Townley; and First Baptist Church, Bruce, Miss.
Brown served both Alabama and Mississippi as a volunteer consultant in missions and stewardship, working with each state convention’s State Board of Missions.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jean; three children; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. (TAB)
