Pat Barrett’s “Build My Life” was the most popular worship song sung in churches in 2021, according to an analysis by Faithlife Proclaim, a provider of worship software for churches.
Faithlife analyzed data from nearly 750,000 church services to compile a list of the Top 10 worship songs of last year:
- “Build My Life,” Pat Barrett
- “Way Maker,” Sinach
- “Great Are You Lord,” All Sons & Daughters
- “Goodness of God,” Bethel Music/Jenn Johnson
- “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord),” Matt Redman
- “How Great Is Our God,” Chris Tomlin
- “This Is Amazing Grace,” Phil Wickham
- “What a Beautiful Name,” Hillsong Worship
- “Graves into Gardens,” Elevation Worship/Brandon Lake
- “In Christ Alone,” Stuart Townend, Keith Getty
“Build My Life” bumped “Way Maker,” the No. 1 song of 2020, from the top spot.
The top 10 songs have an average age of 8.6 years. The oldest song in Faithlife’s Top 20 is “How Great Thou Art,” published in English in 1949, though the song’s origins trace back to the late 1800s.
Newer songs on the 2021 list include two released in 2019, “Graves into Gardens” and “Raise a Hallelujah.”
