Calvin College gets grant for ‘vibrant worship’

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Calvin College, an evangelical school in Grand Rapids, Mich., affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church, has received a $7 million grant for a project aimed at enhancing worship in local congregations.

The grant from the Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment will aid a four-year project called “Vibrant Worship, Healthy Congregations: A National, Ecumenical Worship Renewal Initiative,” the school announced.

The project, to run from 2002 to 2005, will include training events for congregational leaders, resources for weekly worship planning and grants for local community programs aimed at fostering grass-roots worship renewal.
