Camellia Baptist Church, Prattville, celebrated its 50th anniversary March 30. Former staff and charter members present were recognized by James Taylor, pastor. Leslie Morgan read the history of the church, and several members shared testimonies. The church was honored with two presentations made by Rick Lance, executive director of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, and Ralph Foster, a commissioner of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, with Taylor accepting both plaques on behalf of the church.
Special music was provided by the children’s choir, Tori Bowman and the celebration choir led by Peyton Kelly, associate pastor of music and administration, and Joshua Carroll and Jane Potts. The two-part message focused on “God’s Faithfulness in the Past,” given by Glenn Brock, former pastor, and the present and future, shared by Taylor.
