At the time of the abduction, the group was returning to Ibadan in Oyo state, where its headquarters are located, after having attended a Scripture Union Campus Fellowship conference in Okigwe in Imo state, a source said.
The last communication with the group was at 9 a.m. that day. Since then, the members’ phones have been off, a statement from Scripture Union noted.
Christian Daily-Morning Star describe Scripture Union Nigeria as “a campus fellowship aiming to reach students in Nigeria’s universities and colleges with the gospel.”
