Canaan Church, Bessemer, will celebrate its 185th anniversary Sept. 14 with members and friends wearing Victorian styles. Morning worship is at 10 a.m., with guest speaker Robert E. Reccord, president of North American Mission Board. A covered-dish dinner will follow the worship service. Barry F. Cosper is pastor of Canaan.
