Candice Bryant crowned Miss University of Mobile

Candice Bryant, a sophomore music major from Albertville, was crowned Miss University of Mobile 2002 Dec. 1, during the Miss University of Mobile Scholarship Pageant.

She will compete in the Miss Alabama pageant in June. Miss University of Mobile serves as the official hostess of the university. Her responsibilities include participation in alumni activities, homecoming, dedications, receptions and various community and student events.

Bryant’s platform is titled “Unleashing hidden brain power through music education.”

“Music is important for education, not just for fun,” she said. “Most people don’t realize that you use 90 percent of your brain when playing an instrument or singing.”

Bryant is a 2000 graduate of Coosa Christian High School. She is the daughter of Ralph and Denise Fullerton and Tommy Bryant of Albertville.

Other pageant finalists were April Brock of Prattville, first runner-up; Melissa Smith of Hurley, Miss., second runner-up; and Miranda McKinnon of Cantonment, Fla., Miss Congeniality.
