Members of Hebron Baptist Church, Carrollton, gathered in old-fashioned attire for a Saturday night service Sept. 24 to kick off their 175th anniversary celebration.
A large crowd gathered that night to hear the Pickens Singing Men and the following morning to hear a sermon from former pastor Ronnie Elmore.
During the Sunday service, Angie Cooper, a representative of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, presented the church with a framed certificate. Gary Farley, director of missions for Pickens Baptist Association, did a presentation on the church cemetery. Members gave testimonies at both services.
A covered dish lunch followed the Sunday service. Randy Gray is pastor. (Compiled by the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission and TAB)
