Samford University held a ceremonial groundbreaking April 16 to commemorate phase one of Samford Horizons: A Blueprint for Tomorrow, the university’s campus master plan.
Beginning in May, Jonathan Rodgers, assistant professor of music and worship at Samford, is aiming to survey 10–15% of Southern Baptist churches in Alabama (some 226–340) regarding the elements in their worship services.
Samford University journalism students and staffers from The Samford Crimson, Samford’s student-produced newspaper, received 17 awards from the Southeast Journalism Conference recently held at Troy University.
Nationally known author and speaker Trudy Cathy White, daughter of Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy, was the featured speaker at this year’s Samford University Legacy League scholarship luncheon.
“Character education is foundational to developing healthy and whole adults who, in turn, develop healthy and whole communities,” said Anna McEwan, dean of Samford University’s Orlean Beeson School of Education.
