Creativity comes alive and students shine at summer music and theatre camps offered in June by the Alabama School of the Arts at the University of Mobile.
University of Mobile President Charles Smith said, “It’s difficult to imagine the University of Mobile without Roger and Linda Breland.”
“This degree represents more than your academic success,” Charles Smith told over 300 graduates in a ceremony held May 10 on the university’s Great Commission Lawn.
“Since 1961, the foundation and fuel of the University of Mobile has been none other than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” said Charles W. Smith Jr. in his presidential address at the Inaugural Celebration held May 1.
The University of Mobile will formally inaugurate Dr. Charles W. Smith Jr. as its 6th president during a special ceremony on Thursday, May 1.

“You cannot walk with God on a treadmill,” said H.B. Charles Jr., the pastor-teacher of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church of Jacksonville and Orange Park, Florida.
“We are called to trust in Jesus’ authority because of His identity,” Patrick Schreiner said. “We trust Him not only because He gives light, but because He Himself is light.”
