I was playing with my four year old grandson. We had all his race cars out and were pretending to do stunt jumps over a ramp, which was actually an empty water bottle.
In the church we hear the term discipleship more than any other setting on earth. If discipleship is the acquiescence of the teachings, disciplines and practices of another, what should be our objectives as believers in Christ?
Although one person can make a difference, there is truth to the saying that it takes a village to raise a child. Sometimes that “village” is a combination of individuals and organizations, and sometimes that “child” is a group of people.
“I’ve been a bivocational pastor for 48 years, and I’m afraid in the beginning I was like the Apostle Paul — ‘full of zeal but not according to knowledge’!”
“We’ve been going all these years — we’ve never had a problem there.” Scotty Goldman said he’s heard those words many times from churches that are planning missions trips, but no one is immune to emergencies.
While reading, my mind continually returned to the book of Hebrews, which plainly states every person has an appointment with death, followed by the judgment (Heb. 9:27).
