Around 400 women gathered at FBC Trussville on April 13 for Alabama WMU’s annual Renew conference, a day focused on Scripture teaching, worship, missions and fellowship.
Author Laney Rene found greater purpose following the death of her unborn son. Hearing the stories of other women led her to write “Daughter,” which encourages women to recognize they are daughters of the King.
“Purpose is not found in a mission, a vision, a calling, a new idea. Purpose is found in your purpose Giver. Focusing on Him will clear the path,” says Anna Nash, founder and director of Beacon People.
Granny, Gram, Nana, Grandmother. Columnist Barbara Eubanks says she doesn’t care what her grandchildren call her, just as long as they DO call. But names are significant, and grandparents set an important example for those who are watching.
At First Source for Women, a pregnancy resource center with locations in Cullman and Hanceville, volunteers want women “to know that we love them and through that offer them the hope of Jesus.”
The Second Chance program, which serves incarcerated women through shared meals and classes on parenting and life skills, is just one part of the ministry of the Pregnancy Test & Resource Center in Jasper.
