Causey, David Edward

Retired Alabama Baptist pastor David Edward Causey died March 27. He was 78.

Causey was a 1954 graduate of Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham and 1960 graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.

He was ordained in 1950 by First Baptist Church, Eufaula, and his ministry took him to several states, including Florida and Montana. In Alabama, Causey’s pastorates included Shady Grove Baptist Church, Brundidge; Broadmoor Baptist Church, Bessemer; and Maple Avenue Baptist Church, Geneva. Most recently, he served as interim pastor of Indian Grave Baptist Church, Billingsley. In addition to his work as a pastor, Causey served as first vice president of the Alabama Baptist State Convention in the early 1970s.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy; three sons; and three grandchildren. (TAB)
