Stanley Kilgore, pastor of Center Grove Baptist Church, Cullman, in East Cullman Baptist Association, took a team of 12 to the Toledo district of Belize May 31–June 7.
The missions team was composed of nine members of Center Grove Baptist and three members of Greater Vision Baptist Church, Cullman. The team conducted pastoral training for Maya and Kekchi pastors and Vacation Bible School (VBS) and did construction work on a women’s training center.
The theme of the pastor’s school was “The Biblical Chain of Leadership” taken from 2 Timothy 2:2. More than 1,000 children and 700 adults attended the three-day VBS, with seven adults and 38 children making professions of faith. This was the sixth year for conducting VBS in this area. The training center will house a new ministry designed to teach the wives of church leaders about discipleship, women’s ministries and doctrine, among other things.
Kilgore said the projects were a great success and plans are already being made to return to the area next June.
