Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Florala, might not have a lot of big-scale ministry programs going, but its members would tell you this — they can roast 92 Boston butts at one time and reach out to the community simultaneously. “We got a big cooker and have been using it for ministry,” said Dennis Sims, pastor of the Sardis Baptist Association church. The church cooked meat to help the local all-star baseball team raise money, and the congregation is reaching out in the community in other ways as well, something Sims said they are excited about. “As we build relationships and get involved, it’s making a difference,” he said.
