Chaplains to hold 9/11 banquet

River Region Chaplain Service — an interdenominational ministry under the umbrella of Montgomery Baptist Association — will hold a banquet Sept. 11 in memory of the 9/11 terror attacks.

Special speakers will be Brian O’Neill, a retired New York City police officer who served in recovery efforts at Ground Zero, and Alabama Attorney General Troy King. A concert with Kyle Matthews will follow the banquet.
The event “is to make churches and individuals aware of the urgent need to have a consistent, supporting ministry to public safety officers,” said Lisa Rose, director of church and community ministries for Montgomery Association. River Region Chaplain Service provides chaplains for public safety officials.

The banquet will be held at 6 p.m. at Eastmont Baptist Church, Montgomery. For more information, call 334-271-6794. (TAB)
