Chinese man reunited with ‘Word of God’

The Chinese man gingerly approached the literature distribution table.

He stood there awkwardly and expressed reluctance to accept the gift package of spiritual materials. AS Christian worker befriended him and listened as his heartbreaking story unfolded.

During the Cultural Revolution, the man’s Christian father had been killed. Shortly thereafter, he had burned all of his father’s books. Now, 30 years later, he was standing in a hotel lobby in Southeast Asia with a heart hungry for the Word of the Living God. The Christian volunteers lovingly placed a copy of the Bible into the hands of this one who had once lit a fire to try to extinguish God’s Word. They marveled at God’s goodness as they reflected on the Scripture, “The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you” (Ps. 102:28).
