Through a variety of high-energy songs designed to appeal to young audiences, the electronic-pop duo Capital Kings hopes to engage and equip students with a powerful message.
The duo consists of Cole Walowac and Jon White, two childhood friends who discovered their mutual love for music while attending church and school together.
After graduating from high school they began focusing on performing music on a full-time basis.
White said, “We have the greatest inspiration of all for our music in Jesus and we want the younger generation especially to know that being a Christian is the most amazing thing in the world. During our concerts we want to reach people in a way they wouldn’t expect and connect them to Christ.”
Life application
Walowac said, “We want to give people music that they can relate to and listen to on an everyday basis, even if they are working out at the gym or on the bus ride after school. Our goal in songwriting is to focus on writing songs that will apply to people’s lives and hopefully will inspire them to live for Christ.”
Capital Kings is currently on tour with the Christian rock band RED, Christian metal band Wolves at the Gate and hip-hop artist Tedashii.
‘Each night matters’
Their sophomore album, “II,” ranked No. 2 on the iTunes Dance albums chart in the United States and topped the chart in Central American countries. They also topped the radio charts with their hit singles “Fireblazin” and “Into Your Arms.”
More than a passion for music, Capital Kings has a calling to touch lives.
White said, “God has been teaching us that it doesn’t matter where we are performing or how many people we are performing for, each night matters and is important to connecting people to Christ. Every performance has the potential to reach someone for Christ and that is what keeps pushing us forward.”
Walowac said, “We want people to realize how important it is to stand up for their belief in Christ and not be ashamed for what you believe in. At one of our shows a girl came up and shared if it hadn’t been for our music, she would have taken her life. Hearing testimonies like that really hits you and makes you realize the impact of these songs.”
