Christian Worldview Lecture

Nancy Pearcey, Francis A. Schaeffer Scholar at the World Journalism Institute in Asheville, N.C., will present the Theta Alpha Kappa Christian worldview lecture at the University of Mobile Feb. 8. She will speak on science and the Christian worldview at 1 p.m. in Weaver Auditorium.

Theta Alpha Kappa is the national honor society for religious studies/theology.

Pearcey, formerly an agnostic, studied Christian worldview under philosopher and author Francis Schaeffer at L’Abri Fellowship in Switzerland. After graduating from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, with a distributed studies degree in philosophy, German and music, Pearcey earned a master’s degree in biblical studies from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. She pursued additional graduate work in the history of philosophy, with an emphasis on ancient philosophy and Dutch neo-Calvinism, at the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto.

Pearcey is the author of “Total Truth: Liberating Christianity from Its Cultural Captivity,” which won the 2005 ECPA Gold Medallion Award for best book in the Christianity and Society category.
