Christians attacked, house burned in Uganda

KOBOLWA, Uganda — Muslims attacked Christians in two incidents in eastern Uganda in October, burning the house of a Christian family and injuring dozens working on a food project.

Muslims gutted the home of a Christian family Oct. 30 for housing two boys fleeing from threats after they left Islam.

Stephen Muganzi said the boys sought refuge with him Oct. 16 in Kobolwa village after their parents learned of their conversion, began questioning them and threatened to kill them. The boys’ fathers organized a group of sharia (Islamic law) vigilantes to punish them for apostasy, and the mob, including the boys’ fathers, set fire to Muganzi’s house.

In predominantly Muslim Nalidi village, Pallisa District, a mob of armed jihadists recently injured 27 Christians working at a food-producing project because people were coming to Christ through the outreach, sources said. (MS)
