Clearview Baptist Church, Pinson, on mission

Walking in Nicaraguan slums and even jungles Aug. 26–Sept. 2, a team of 23 from Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina handed out more than 20,000 gospel tracts. Eric Hixon, founder and director of Oneonta-based M.U.D. Ministries, coordinated the trip that included the first crusade ever done in Juigalpa, Nicaragua.

He partnered with more than 40 pastors in Nicaragua for the event, which drew a crowd of more than 10,000 people to the city’s baseball stadium to hear about Christ.

Nicaraguan band The Harvest led the worship, a 12-year-old boy known as “the golden boy” shared his testimony and sang and Hixon preached. Hundreds were saved during the crusade, as well as during the street ministries the team took part in.

The Alabama Baptist churches represented include Union Hill, Oneonta; First, Double Springs; Clearview, Pinson; and Joquin, Goshen.
