The University of Mobile’s (UM) Campus Ministries kicked off a Collegiate Women’s Ministry (CWM) on Aug. 25. Marilyn Foley, wife of UM President Mark Foley, and Judy Patrick, adjunct professor of women’s studies, are sponsoring CWM.
During the coming year, CWM plans to establish a mentoring ministry, matching collegiate women with older women and younger classmates with older classmates. CWM plans to do a service project around the holidays. Winter 2010 holds in store a special event with a prominent speaker, and a fashion show in spring 2010 will climax the year.
The goal of CWM is to provide ministry opportunities, mentoring relationships, speakers and special events that are unique to collegiate women. Through CWM, young women will receive nourishment that is vital to their spiritual growth, wholesome to their social development and palatable to their sense of caring.
