Cooperative Program ahead of last year’s pace

NASHVILLE — Contributions through the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) for March 2008 totaled $16,338,497.78 — 8.99 percent, or $1,347,404.51, ahead of the $14,991,093.51 received in March 2007. Year-to-date contributions are 2.39 percent ahead of the same time frame in March 2007, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.

As of March 31, the year-to-date total of $104,513,493.00 for CP missions is $2,436,847.88 ahead of the $102,076,645.12 received at the same point in 2007. For the SBC Cooperative Program Allocation Budget, the year-to-date total of $104,513,493.00 is 104.2 percent of the $100,300,768.15 budgeted to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America. The SBC operates on an Oct. 1–Sept. 30 fiscal year.
