NASHVILLE — Contributions through the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) for July 2009 totaled $16,299,603.75 while designated gifts received last month amounted to $10,074,066.04, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.
Year-to-date contributions through the CP are 2.69 percent below the same time frame last year. As of July 31, the year-to-date total of $166,883,487.20 for CP missions is $4,606,825.27 below the $171,490,312.47 received at the end of July 2008.
Designated giving of $182,558,999.98 for the same year-to-date period is 6.01 percent, or $11,671,174.06, below gifts of $194,230,174.04 received at this point last year.
For the CP Allocation Budget, the year-to-date total of $166,883,487.20 is 97.35 percent of the $171,430,695 budgeted to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America.
The SBC operates on an Oct. 1–Sept. 30 fiscal year.
