COSBE meets in Greensboro

A proposal for an Acts 1:8 strategy for 2006–07 garnered unanimous support from members of the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists (COSBE) during their June 12 business meeting. The group met in conjunction with the June 13–14 annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention in Greensboro, N.C.

The proposal lists numerous recommendations on how members of COSBE may work with local churches, SBC entities, state conventions and Baptist associations in evangelism and missions.

Alabama evangelist Anis Shorrosh addressed the group June 9 with a challenge to enhance the spread of the gospel.

“America needs to be saved from the wrath of God,” he said. “Our own organization, COSBE, is dying.
… Revival meetings have just about evaporated. Instead, we have Bible conferences … which basically serve the saints. Who cares about the sinners any more?

“Pray with me that our heavenly Father will raise zealous and passionate Christians to reach out to the lost in America,” he urged.  (BP, TAB)
