‘Courageous’ movie event kit available to churches, ministries

Provident Films and Sherwood Pictures are offering a chance for churches to ring in the new year with a special screening of the film “Courageous.”

“With New Year’s Eve falling on Saturday this year, a family movie night is the perfect positive and inspiring way to begin 2012,” said Ben Howard, senior vice president of Provident.

“Courageous,” produced by the same company — Sherwood Pictures — as “Fireproof” and “Facing the Giants,” follows four law enforcement officers who struggle in different ways with their roles as fathers.

When tragedy strikes, the men are forced to face their difficulties together and wrestle with their faith in honesty and community. The film aims to cultivate God’s promise to “turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.”

Provident is offering a movie event kit to churches that includes the movie on DVD, the license required for a year of unlimited public screenings and marketing support material. The package is an exclusive deal for churches and ministries. The company hopes that this will be an opportunity to show the film to encourage believers and foster conversations with non-Christians.

To help spread the word about a movie night event, Provident is also selling a package that includes invite tickets, movie posters and church bulletin inserts.
