Eugene Meadows, pastor of Red Oak Baptist Church, Andalusia, led a team of nine people from Covington Baptist Association churches on a missions trip to Loja province, Ecuador, in early June. This was the association’s seventh missions trip to the South American country.
Partnering with Baptist representative and Covington County-native Johnny Maust, the team spent time prayer walking what Meadows described as the least evangelized area of Ecuador — 1 percent of the 400,000 citizens have heard the gospel.
Team members also visited homes and businesses to spread the gospel and team member Windle Ray taught a course on praising Jesus at First Baptist Church, Riobamba, and the Fellowship Church of Jesus.
According to Meadows, 15 people came to know Christ during the week.
