NASHVILLE — Year-to-date contributions through the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) are up 4.39 percent compared to the same time frame in 2003, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.
As of Aug. 31, 2004, the year-to-date total of $176,469,739.87 for CP Missions is $7,420,528.91 ahead of the $169,049,210.96 received at this same point in 2003. For the month, receipts of $16,377,717.24 were 2.09 percent, or $350,391.45, below the $16,728,108.69 received in August 2003.
For the SBC CP Allocation Budget, the year-to-date total of $176,469,739.87 is 105.59 percent of the $167,129,517.50 budgeted, or $9,340,222.37 above budget to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America.
The SBC operates on an Oct. 1–Sept. 30 fiscal year.
