All youth who have participated in CrossWalk Alabama are invited to participate in Acteens Pizzazz general session on the steps of the state Capitol in Montgomery on March 10.
Candace McIntosh with Alabama Woman’s Missionary Union said the rally is the final handing off of the cross in Alabama. She said the Selma Baptist Association will be passing off the cross to the Acteens and Royal Ambassador Challengers of the Montgomery Baptist Association. “CrossWalk has challenged youth to give of themselves and to live as Jesus would,” she said.
“We pray that although CrossWalk Alabama is coming to an end in our state, that its effects will have an eternal impact,” McIntosh added.
She said thousands of youth have participated in walking the cross throughout their communities and ministering to the needs of the people in their areas.
Participants are asked to meet, but not park, in the lower level parking lot of First Baptist Church in Montgomery at 2 p.m.
The group will walk down Perry Street to Dexter Avenue, before turning right on Dexter and continuing to the Capitol for a youth rally.
