When someone mentions the name “Crystal Lewis” you probably think of her signature R&B vocals. On “Holiday!,” Crystal Lewis proves that deep within her resides a gifted jazz vocalist. Backed by a very talented jazz trio, Lewis brings to life the spirit of the holidays.

“Holiday!” is a collection of traditional Christmas songs that have been made popular throughout the years. Lewis chose classic songs like “Joy to theWorld,” “Winter Wonderland” and “Oh, Holy Night” for the album. With
the help of pianist Alan Pasqua, Lewis added her own musical flavor to each of these holiday favorites. In fact, Lewis and Pasqua arranged seven of the album’s 12 tracks. This album is  packed full of energy and enthusiasm.

This is partly a result of the creative process which Lewis and her bandmates experienced over the three-day recording session. As is the case with most great jazz musicians, Lewis and her bandmates were able to feed off of each other’s creative instincts to create a delightful collection of holiday tunes. “Holiday!” is sure to be one of those classic recordings that you listen to while decorating the Christmas tree.
