East Side Baptist Church, Cullman, hosted nearly 300 people June 23 as the congregation dedicated the new 21,000-square-foot facility. After the church’s previous building was destroyed in the April 27, 2011, tornadoes, the “keys were handed over” to the new building June 6, 2013. Pastor Ken Allen said there was “so much special and significant” about the dedication service.
Lonette Berg of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission attended the service, as well as former church members, former staff, the church’s architect and volunteers who helped throughout the building process.
“It’s a great time of starting new,” Allen said. “Emphasizing that as we dedicate the building, we are dedicating it in its totality. [Similar to] when we go before God, it’s complete dedication. He wants nothing held back.”
