Cullman’s Northside Baptist celebrates 75 years

More than 125 people gathered to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Northside Baptist Church, Cullman, on Aug. 24.

The West Cullman Baptist Association church had a fellowship time before the morning service where historical items were displayed including photos and the old church bell, which had been sandblasted and painted.

During the morning service former minister of music David Pate sang and former pastors Jack Collins and Ralph Harrelson were recognized. Alabama Baptist Historical Commission representative Jerry Armor presented a commemorative plaque.

Then-pastor Dennis Trimble, now the association’s director of missions, said his favorite part of the day was when three members shared their stories on what brought them to Northside Baptist and why they stayed.

Lunch in the fellowship hall followed the morning service.

As for Trimble’s hope for the future of the church and its members, he said he “hopes for them to be all that God wants them to be in the neighborhood where He’s placed them.” (Neisha Fuson)
