Daniel Knight, retired pastor and former DOM for Marion Association dies Sept. 18

Retired pastor and former director of missions for Marion Baptist Association Daniel Knight died Sept. 18. He was 78.

Knight served as pastor of several churches in Alabama during his ministry including Cedar Grove, Sulligent; New Hope, Winfield; Mulberry Springs, Sulligent; Calvary, Warrior; and Pleasant Grove, Hamilton. He also served several churches in northwest Alabama as interim pastor. He was DOM of Marion Baptist Association from 1988 to 2003.

Knight was active in Baptist life throughout his ministry and was instrumental in starting and building Primera Iglesia Bautista, a Hispanic mission Church in Hamilton.

Knight is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Eddy and Stephen; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
