The David Crowder Band, despite recent acclaim as the future of young worship music, often sounds rather average in its latest release. Of course, average, when done by an above-average group, is better than most.
But a noticeable portion — typically the quieter songs — of “Remedy” falls slightly short of exhilarating, both lyrically and musically.
They are at their best — a good best — when they mix it up electronically and crank up the volume.
The disc’s best song, “We Won’t Be Quiet,” features the talent of high-octane celebrity rocker Ted Nugent on guitar.
The record is good; however, for the most part, it’s nothing that hasn’t been heard before.
