Ewell Paul Davis, pastor of Schultz Creek Baptist Church, Centreville, died Dec. 2. He was 57.
An Elba native, Davis received a bachelor’s degree from Livingston University (now the University of West Alabama) in 1976, a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Montevallo in 1982 and a master of divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1993.
In addition to serving Schultz Creek Baptist, he was employed as a bus driver at an elementary school. Davis previously served Eastern Valley Baptist Church, Bessemer; Alexandria Baptist Church; Calvary Baptist Church, Wedowee; and a church in Georgia as pastor and taught history and coached at Fort Payne High School, Jess Lanier High School (now Bessemer City High School) in Bessemer, Parrish High School and Oxford High School.
He is survived by his wife, Pamella Moorer Davis; two sons; one daughter; and two grandchildren. (TAB)
