Retired Alabama Baptist pastor Metz Leroy Davis Sr. died Nov. 3. He was 85.
A graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Davis served as a bivocational pastor in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana for more than 40 years. His Alabama pastorates were Enon Baptist Church, Centreville; Green Springs Baptist Church, Birmingham; and Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Adamsville. In addition to his work as a pastor, he was an employee of Ford Motor Co. for more than 40 years.
At the time of Davis’ death, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Alabaster.
Davis was preceded in death by three children.
He is survived by wife Ruby, five children, 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. (TAB)
