Liberty Baptist Church, Deatsville, celebrated its 150th anniversary Sept. 21 with about 150 people.
Lonette Berg, Alabama Baptist Historical Commission executive director, presented the church with a commemorative plaque, according to Maggie Trivett who serves as the church’s assistant administrator and clerk.
Former pastor James Bozeman shared the message at the celebration service and former pastor Clay Carroll spoke. ReNay and Rick Robertson provided special music and a photo slideshow was displayed during the service.
A fellowship meal followed and each participant was given a commemorative 150-year anniversary album filled with the photos from the slideshow, Trivett said.
Joey Bentley, who was pastor at the time of the celebration, said he hopes the Autauga Baptist Association church “continues to go out and reach the unchurched families in the community and to be intentional about the gospel.”
