Alabama Baptist disaster relief will be telling its story on the road from now on, thanks to a new 53-foot trailer emblazened with photos of Alabama Baptist volunteers helping disaster victims.
“A lot of people don’t understand what disaster relief encompasses, so we want to tell our story in pictures — that we hear the cry of the people, we administer hope and we see lives changed in the process,” said Tommy Puckett, state disaster relief director.
The unit will primarily transport cooking equipment and will contain a 500-gallon water tank, as well as hold a radio and conference room. It will replace the state’s previous 45-foot trailer and will hopefully be ready for use by March, Puckett said. (TAB)
