“Vintage” is true Dixie Melody Boys from the opening note to the final chorus and all points in between.

Most of the songs on this recording are no strangers to Dixie Melody Boys — or any real follower of Southern gospel music. Getting the recording started is the classic Ed O’Neal standard, “When I Cross to the Other Side of Jordan” and from there, it’s one audience pleaser after another. You’ll certainly remember songs like “He Came Back” (which should be a radio single — today, right now, don’t wait), “Home Sweet Home” (featuring some really fine singing some people may wrongly think the Boys are not capable of doing), “Tell Me One More Time,” “Royal Telephone,” “When the Son of My Life Goes Down,” “Good Old Boys,” “Sights of Heaven,” “God’s Amazing Grace” and a radio favorite from the late ’70s to early ’80s, “Sending Up Boards.”

This recording will certainly appeal to two groups of Southern gospel fans: any supporter of the Dixie Melody Boys (and there are plenty) and anyone who enjoys good quality quartet singing.

The Dixie Melody Boys, as they have been for many years, is still one of the best quartets to ever grace a stage. And they forever will be.
