Dove award nominees announced

Christian artists Toby McKeehan, Michael W. Smith and Kirk Franklin were among the top nominees for the 34^th Annual Dove Awards, the Gospel Music Association announced Jan.14.

McKeehan, who performs under the name tobyMac, and Smith each received nine nominations and Franklin earned eight. “Toby, Michael and Kirk truly represent the depth and breadth of Christian and gospel music today,” said Frank Breeden, outgoing president of the Gospel Music Association in a statement.

The Dove Awards will be held in Nashville April 10.
