Nona Claire Dunham is the church pianist, serving in the position at Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church for over 30 years. She dedicates many hours of practice to make every song played during the service perfect.
Q: How did you get started in the music ministry?
A: I started as a very young child. I started playing at our church for the junior choirs and then progressed up to the bigger choirs. I advanced up to church pianist and organist.
Q: Why have you continued this ministry through the years?
A: It is just something that has been a big part of my life and that I have enjoyed doing.
Q: What have been some of the demands of the ministry?
A: I play Sunday mornings, Sunday nights and Wednesday nights. I play for different churches, weddings and funerals.
Q: How do your family, friends and church family support you?
A: I have had nothing but love and support from my family, friends and church family.
Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A: I have been in church all my life. I accepted the Lord and was baptized during Bible school when I was 10.
Q: What difference has being a Christian made in your life?
A: It is all the difference in the world. I really don’t remember when I did not know God as my Savior. He has always been my Savior, my Father and my Friend. He has always been there for me.
