“Everyday Gospel Easter Devotional,” Paul David Tripp, Crossway Publishing, 2026

The message of the gospel is not only in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, but is throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. In this unique Easter devotional, Tripp adapts 30 of entries from his 365-day devotional, “Everyday Gospel,” to highlight Jesus’ death and resurrection.
“Over thousands of years, God recorded and preserved this amazing story for us because He loves us. He wants us to know that this story is our story, and in knowing, He wants us to be left in awe and wonder, brought to our knees in adoration and worship, causing us to live lives of gratitude, love and surrender,” Tripp said in the introduction of “Everyday Gospel Easter Devotional.”
Each chapter includes a reference to a passage of Scripture, a key thought, a two-page devotion, questions for reflection, and a prayer. The devotions include personal accounts, thought-provoking issues and interpretations of scripture that all relate to the big picture of the gospel. “Everyday Gospel Easter Devotional” can be for personal use or for families or small groups.

“Easter Matters: How the Resurrection of Jesus Changes You,” Anna Nash and Katy Shelton, Iron Stream Media, 2022
Based in the Gospel of John, “Easter Matters” is a devotional that reminds the readers “of the security and freedom found when we see ourselves as God sees us.” It is an exploration of how Jesus related to those around Him, which leads to how He relates to present-day followers.
In “Easter Matters,” there is a Part 1 and a Part 2 for each topic. This devotional can be spread over 40 days or these parts can be combined to make it a 20 day exploration. Part 1 of each devotional relates directly to a chapter in John. Part 2 includes a related guide for application to everyday life. They alternate days — for example, Day 1 is Part 1, Day 2 is Part 2, Day 3 is Part 1, etc.
Each 2-day set is based on one chapter from the book of John, with a key verse noted in each Part 1. Part 2 uses the same chapter but has a “Process” section with questions to ponder and a “Prayer” section. Both have related “Promises.”
“[We] have a real passion that people not be just inspired and encouraged but that they know what it looks like in their own life, practically speaking. To give them opportunity in prayer and Scripture and a little bit of a writing prompt — a journaling type opportunity with a few questions — so what we ended up doing is expanding that and making it meatier and richer with more opportunities to personally apply each chapter on the second day,” Nash said.

“That Holy Week So Long Ago,” Written by Matthew Boswell, Illustrated by Helena Perez Garcia, Crossway Publishing, 2026

Though “That Holy Week So Long Ago” is a children’s book, its content is for any age.
With beautiful illustrations and rhyming text, Boswell and Garcia lead the reader through the events before and including Christ’s death and resurrection — Palm Sunday, Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, Spy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Resurrection Sunday.
“The events of Holy Week are more than moments in a story. They show the extraordinary lengths God went to in order to save us from our sin and to display His glory. This true story announces truly good news!” Boswell said in his “Invitation of Holy Week” at the beginning of the book.
“As you read about Holy Week, I hope you see the glory and grace of King Jesus as never before. The one who gave His life invites you into a life of repenting of your sin and believing in Him as your Savior. Even today, a holy Savior still creates a holy people through the events of that Holy Week so long ago,” Boswell said.
Also included is a section with a summary of the Biblical significance of each day as well as a “Note to Parents.”
“As a father whose children are quickly stretching into adulthood, I wrote this book with them in mind. I wanted them to understand, even in their teenage years, the unshakable tenets of our faith — truths that have shaped our family and, I pray, will continue to shape each of them throughout their lives,” Boswell said.
