It was an “old-fashioned celebration” for those gathered at Rushenville Baptist Church, Eclectic, on Sept. 26 for its 100th anniversary.
The Elmore Baptist Association church provided old-fashioned fans to the more than 100 people who attended and showcased a 100-year-old buggy on the front lawn. A representative from the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission presented a plaque to the church, and The Larch Family Gospel Singers were the special musical guests. Jim Jackson, director of missions for Elmore Association, brought the morning message.
“It was a really good day,” said Pastor Ron Estes. “I’d love to have homecoming every Sunday.”
