Bill Carr, minister of music at First Baptist Church, Bay Minette, is this year’s recipient of the Paul H. Stewart Music Ministry Award presented by Stewart’s wife, Virginia, at the Education Music Association (EMA) banquet.
The annual award honors a minister of music for excellence in ministry of music for excellence in ministry and began in 1989 in honor of Stewart, the first director of the SBOM worship leadership/church music office.
New EMA officers elected are: Don Campbell, minister of music and worship, FBC Birmingham, president; Jerry Henderson, minister of education/administration, FBC Irondale, vice president; Johnny Kilgore, minister of family ministries, music and senior adults, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Birmingham, president-elect; Charles Shadix, minister of music and senior adults, FBC Hartselle, secretary; Jim Simpson, minister of education, Golden Springs, Anniston, treasurer.
