Ernie Haase Never Alone (Daywind)

Ernie Haase Never Alone (Daywind)

Fourteen selections are found on Ernie Haase’s first post-Cathedrals solo release and together they make a fine recording. Haase has long established his place in southern gospel music history as the Cathedrals’ tenor, but as a soloist, he’s just now beginning to take his mark — and if “Never Alone” is any indication of what is to come, it’s going to be a big mark.

The classic “When Jesus Comes in the Clouds” (also the first radio single release) gets the recording off to a peppy start and before the final notes of “Precious Memories” fade away, you’ll hear a wide variety of songs that seem to be custom-tailored just for Haase.

Though it’s tough to be a soloist in an industry that is dominated by groups, “Never Alone” is just the beginning for Ernie Haase. In fact, he’s going to have a long and happy career.
