As most of you know, we arrived back in the states June 3. Since that time, our lives have been anything but normal. Janet, the boys and I parted after arriving at the airport in Atlanta. Janet took Trey and Trent and flew on to Nashville while I caught a flight to Dallas/Fort Worth to pick up a car that we were buying from some friends. My younger sister, Karla, met me and helped me with the driving back to Nashville.
A few days later, the boys, Janet and I were off to Florida to visit with friends and vacation four days in the Bahamas.
We were home only two days before I had to travel back to Europe, to Slovenia for a region-wide conference of Central and Eastern Europe. The purpose of the meeting was to bring missionaries in this region together for our new Regional Leadership Team.
Our responsibility will be to form teams to cover our area, in reaching our people-group for Christ and starting new churches.
The theme of our strategy is “Hope for Every Heart, A Church Planting Movement for Every People.” After returning from Slovenia, I was home for about five days before our family was off to Ridgecrest for our Stateside Assignment Conference. The week was intense with conferences on re-entry into American culture, updates on what is happening with reorganization of the International Mission Board, and speaking engagements in the conference sessions for International Missions Week at Ridgecrest.
We need your prayer support in these areas:
1. That the Lord would reveal His plan for our group in Latvia.
2. That we would be able to fulfill the load of responsibility that rests on our shoulders.
3. That the Lord would raise up families, individuals and volunteer groups.
4. That our Latvian friends would be encouraged during our time away from them.
5. That the Lord would provide a church planting movement in Latvia, with churches multiplying and reaching out to other communities in evangelism.
6. That many Latvians would come to know and accept the salvation that Jesus has to offer.
7. That the Lord would provide our family with rest and renewal during this year home.
8. That there truly would be “Hope for Every Heart,” and a “Church Planting Movement for Every People.”
