Erwin: Riga, Latvia

We have been working all summer in Preili in the eastern part of Latvia.

The summer began with a team from Franklin, Tenn., helping us with a team of Latvians and leading a week-long baseball clinic, where they also shared their faith. Then, after arriving back in Latvia after my (Monte’s) mother’s death, I along with several Latvians in our team and our summer missionary, Spencer Cole, have gone each week to meet with the children and youth and follow up on the team’s work.

We know that Satan has a lock on this community and its people and we are asking that the Lord would loosen Satan’s hold. The people have been kept in darkness, through a mixture of Catholicism and mysticism and we are convinced the Lord would have them know the freedom found in Him.
