KAMPALA, Uganda — An angry mob stabbed an evangelist and attacked three others in Uganda because a widow put her faith in Jesus Christ.
A relative of the 75-year-old widow incited a group of Muslims after the woman put faith in Jesus during an open-air gospel preaching Feb. 15, a source told Morning Star News. One Muslim stabbed Robert Kasozi in the stomach in Kiwanga village in Goma, a subcounty in Uganda. Others beat Kasozi’s three team members — Alice Nanduja, James Bazanya and Frank Biribawa — and tore up Bibles.

Some milk vendors rescued the Christians, the source said. A security guard fired his pistol, scaring away the assailants.
Kasozi was still receiving treatment in a hospital as of Feb. 25, notes Morning Star.
Approximately 12% of Uganda’s population is Muslim. Uganda’s constitution and laws allow for freedom of religion, including converting from one faith to another. However, Christian churches increasingly have received threats of violence, and some Christian converts have been attacked, killed or excommunicated by Muslim family members, the World Atlas reports.
