A man in Uganda reportedly stabbed to death his 33-year-old son, apparently for becoming a Christian.
Hamba Juma — a father of four — was stabbed Jan. 28 by his father in the Iganga District of Uganda. Nangobi Mariati, Juma’s wife, told Morning Star News her husband was declared dead at a local hospital.

His father, Hamba Ahammada, has vanished.
‘Promising to kill all of us’
Mariati told Morning Star she and Juma left Islam to convert to Christianity, which is the reason he was killed.
“My father-in-law [and] other family members have been insulting us, sending harsh words promising to kill all of us for leaving Islam,” she said.
As of Feb. 19 no police investigation was underway, Morning Star reported.
Threats increasing
Approximately 12% of Uganda’s population is Muslim, and the constitution and laws allow for freedom of religion, including converting from one faith to another. However, Christian churches increasingly have received threats of violence, and some Christian converts have been attacked, killed or excommunicated by Muslim family members, according to World Atlas.
