In a month-long celebration in November, First Baptist Church, Ashland, marked its 150th anniversary. On Nov. 1, Johnie Sentell, Alabama Baptist Historical Commission representative, presented a certificate to the church. LifeSong from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida, performed special music Nov. 15 and New Ground, a southern gospel group from Scottsboro, performed Nov. 22.
And on Nov. 29, J.C. Harris was the guest speaker, southern gospel group Pea Ridge Singers sang special music and a time capsule was opened. A historical marker also was unveiled recognizing the church’s history. Rusty Craig is pastor.
